Racism?, I don't believe so, U.K.s "Big Brother".
When a bloody stupid television "reality" show takes over the headlines of every newspaper in the country, something is definitely wrong with this country.
The producers of Britains channel 4 television, and, it is my suspicion, a small group of Asians, are manipulating the public, maybe it is not a bad thing, maybe it has been needed. With a reported 36,000 complaints to Ofcom, out of a viewing figure of 5 million, and, a population of 70 million, I do not consider the case proven.
How hard is it today to "stir" up a complaints petition. One "click" on the link in that e-mail that said, "click here, then forward to all that you know", especially when the recipients have been waiting for a chance such as this. And I believe that there are those just waiting for an opportunity like this.
The three British women on the show, built up by the media, and, believing what is written about them, have come face to face with the real "reality", they have met a woman that has style, looks, and, intelligence, three things that they will never have, and they have turned to bitchyness.
I say that it is not a racial attack, and, although they have made comments regarding her race, these comment are only the normal comments, used daily in jokes and, ( their type of ) humerous remarks, mostly gathered from the headlines of daily newspapers, ("Asian bombers", "Asian terrorists", etc, ) that they scan whilst sitting in their beauty salons.
These three British woman are, to put it simply, uneducated. Their world revolves around them and their "hangers on". They are facing reality, possibly, for the first time, and they don't know how to handle it, no advisers in the Big Brother house.
We can learn a lesson from this event, the young of today, of all races, think like this, and talk like this, its not as we would wish it to be, but its normal, and now, its out in the open. We are, and possibly, will remain, a divided nation.
