Affordable housing?.
I have just read an interesting story in my newspaper. It would appear that, legally, under some existing regulations, that the Villajoyosa council, that's in the Costa Blanca area of Spain, can decide to "develop" land even if the residents have lived there for up to 30 years, and this site is requires for "affordable housing".
From what I read, this is under Valencia's , Ley Reguladora de la Actividad Urbanistica, passed in 1994.
I do not know the full details, but, affordable housing is is a necessity for a large part of the population in these times of ever increasing house prices.
The land will be used to build new flats. The starting price for these new flats will be an "affordable",
£190,000.
