Item from national newspaper,

"Mother's Day brought plenty of quotes from politicians about their mothers. Scottish Nationalist Party leader Nicola Sturgeon said of her smart young looking mother, "No matter where I am or how busy I am, speaking to my mum on the phone is the one thing I do every day without fail. Sometimes just for a couple of minutes to say hello, but the ritual of touching base with her is one of the constants in my life".

Of course Ms Sturgeon calls her mum daily- oddly though, she didn't mention that her mother Joan is on the public payroll as her assistant".
